Mental Performance Training for Baseball Players

You’ve seen it: one strikeout, one error — and the rest of the game slips away. Not because of talent. Because of what’s happening between their ears.

What this is

One-on-one mental performance coaching for baseball players ages 8–18 in Frisco and across North Texas. This is the mental side of the game — and only the mental side. Your team coach trains the skills. Your hitting or pitching instructor trains the swing and the arm. Nobody is coaching the mind. That’s what this is.

Baseball is built to test a kid’s head. Failure is the sport: even great hitters fail seven times out of ten. A player who can’t reset after a strikeout, who carries an error into the next inning, who tightens up with runners on — that player isn’t lacking talent. They’re lacking a reset, a routine, and an identity that survives a bad at-bat.

What baseball players work on here

  • The 10-second mistake reset — strikeout, error, bad call: gone before the next pitch.
  • A personal at-bat routine — the same approach every time, no matter the count or the crowd.
  • Slump recovery — separating a bad week from a bad player, and getting the swing — and the head — back.
  • Pressure at-bats — runners on, two outs, game on the line: breathing and focus that hold up.
  • Confidence that survives a bad game — and a bad tournament.

How it works

Two tracks, six weeks each, all one-on-one. Track 1 puts Matt directly in your player’s corner: one private session a week, built around their position and what’s actually getting in their head. Track 2 puts him in yours — because half the mental game is won or lost in the car ride home. Take either one, or run both together.

  • Track 1 — 1-on-1 Athlete Mental Performance: $997 · 6 weeks · one private session a week · brief parent check-ins included
  • Track 2 — 1-on-1 Parent Coaching: $497 · 6 weeks · what to say (and not say) before and after games
  • Bundle — both tracks together: $1,297

The six weeks cover the Confidence Code, the Mistake Reset, Pre-Game Priming, Pressure as Fuel, the Self-Talk Makeover, and the Long Game — a competitor identity that holds. Spots are limited: it’s one-on-one, so when Matt’s calendar is full, it’s full.

Matt co-ran Young Brothers Academy in Frisco with his brother Mike — hitting, pitching, fielding, and sports psychology — and their travel team won 7 of 9 tournaments plus two league titles. He has coached this age group on real fields, not just in theory. Related pages: mental performance training for football players, for basketball players, and for golfers.

Common questions

Is this physical training?

No. This is mental performance coaching only. Skills, strength, and mechanics stay with your team coach and private instructors. Matt coaches confidence, focus, resets, and routines.

What ages and levels?

Athletes ages 8–18, from youth leagues through high school, in Frisco and across North Texas.

Do parents get coached too?

Yes — that’s Track 2. Half the mental game is the car ride home, and parents learn exactly what helps (and what hurts) before and after games.

Claim a spot

One-on-one means limited spots. Reach out, tell Matt about your player — age, team, and what’s getting in their head — and he’ll talk honestly about fit.
